About us

Hey! I’m Jess, founder of Neurodivergent Lens. Back in 2019 I was diagnosed with autism, and around the same time was when I dusted off my parents old DSLR camera from the cupboard and decided to have a go at photography as a hobby.

I was studying my undergraduate in music at the time, so began photographing my pals playing gigs locally and never thought it would grow into being the success it is today.

Being neurodivergent has meant that I have always seen and deeply felt the beauty in the details of everyday life, and my camera is the creative tool that lets me translate this to others.

Photography played a fundamental part in figuring out my own brain since my diagnosis, helping me feel part of communities I previously struggled to feel part of (such as in live music), and giving me confidence I never knew I had.

After 6 years of being a professional photographer, collaborating with lots of amazing people and growing so much confidence along the way, I founded Neurodivergent Lens with the vision of working with accessibility and mutual understanding at the forefront, and creating a community of support for other freelancers and creatives who resonate with the neurodivergent experience.
